Biographical / Historical
Created in 1969, the School of Epistemics was part of the Faculty of Science and had the aim of bringing those together who had 'a common concern with the nature of knowledge and understanding and the means whereby knowledge and understanding may be achieved'. In 1985 it achived the status of being a department within the Faculty of Science and was renamed the Centre for Cognitive Science (CCS).
