MS 197 contains all six of the comedies by Roman playwright Terence.
Andrea: ff. 1r-21v. Starts with the line [N]atus in excelsis tectis cartaginis alte
Eunuchus: ff. 22r-45v. Starts with the line [T]errentii affri incipit eunucus acta ludis megallensibus
Heauton Timorumenos: ff. 45v-68r. The play starts with the line [I]n militiam proficisci
Adelphi: ff. 68r-89r. Adelphi begins with the line [Duos] cum haberet Demea filios adulescentulos
Hecyra: ff. 89r-109r. This play begins on f. 89r with the line [U]xorem duxit pamphilus
Phormio: ff. 109r-132v. Phormio in MS 197 begins on f. 109r with the line [C]remetis frater aberat... The final line of the play is on f. 132r: Jam faxo aderit. Et vos valete et plaudite Caliopius recensui. Amen. Valeat qui scripsit vivat et honore consistat.
Written by several hands of just average skill. All the initials are left unfinished.

Custodial History
An Italian book. Two inscriptions are found: one, on the first fly-leaf, reads, Di Giovanni da Nobilij de Malavolt[a] Pp°, and the hand might be contemporary. Underneath, in a later hand, is written, Questo Giovanni fu gonjaloniere della chiesa al tempo di Pio secondo nella speditione della guerra di Napoli e mori in quella. The other is a 17th century inscription on one of the fly-leaves, Bono dedit Perillnstris Dominus Ubaldinus Malavolla domini Stephani Pape Eques mihi Alphonso Lando anno domini 1646 in conservator[is] Magistratu minor ejus collega essem.
