'The Seven Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary' is a set of prayer which focuses on the sorrows that the Virgin Mary had to endure throughout her life. The prayers are preceded by the rubric Incipiunt orationes de doloribus beate verginis marie and they all begin with an invocation to the Virgin Mary. They are followed by a very short section taken from an homily of Saint Bernard.
First sorrow: on f. 64v, begins Ave dulcis mater christi qui dolebas corde tristi te docente Symeone.
Second sorrow: ff. 64v-65r, begins Ave dulci mater christi qui in egiptum fugisti.
Third sorrow: on f. 65r, begins Ave dulcis mater christi qui dolebas corde tristi natum requirens.
Fourth sorrow: ff. 65r-65v, begins Ave dulcis mater christi qui dolens et flens vidisti captum.
Fifth sorrow: on f. 65v, begins Ave dulcis mater christi qui dolens et flens vidisti cruci nexum.
Sixth sorrow: ff. 65v-66r, begins Ave dulcis mater christi qui de cruce suscepisti.
Seventh sorrow: ff. 66r-66v, begins Ave que post mortem Christi dolendo sepe vidisti.
Collect: ff. 66v-67r, begins Quesumus omnipotens et misericors deus tribue nobis.
Homily of Saint Bernard: on f. 67r. It is introduced by the underline words De beata vergine maria Bernardus omelia quarta super missa est and begins with Non est dubium.
