De Motu Cordis by St Thomas Aquinas, 1457
Scope and Contents
Incomplete copy of De Motu Cordis ('On the Motion of the Heart') by St Thomas Aquinas. It starts on f. 324v with the words 'Quoniam omne quod movetur necesse est habere motorem...', and ends incompletely on f. 325r with the words 'unde proveniunt in ipsa diversae apprehensiones et affectiones.'. Someone added the comment 'hic est defectus' ('here is an absence, a fault'). De Motu Cordis is a letter written by Thomas Aquinas to Master Philip ca. 1270, which examines the movements and the nature of the heart as an organ.
