Custodial History

The manuscript portions of this book would almost seem to be of earlier date than the book itself. The book was presented by Robert Duncan in 1717: Bibliothecae dedit D. Robertus Duncan opt. [f]rei Adoles[r]ens A.D. 1717. On f. 109v there is another, earlier inscription in Scots, seemingly from the late 15th/early 16th century: "Quha so ev[er] one me will luk. I ame margarittis stuarittis buik And if scho happinis me to tyne restor me to my maist[er]s syne." ("Whoever will see. I am Margaret Stuart's book and if I am lost, give me back to my master").
