Scope and Contents
Town Plan of Dusseldorf. Made under the direction of Pohlig. Printed by C. G. Blankertz. Dusseldorf is referred to in the Guidebook and Outline Catalogue of the Cities and Town Planning Exhibition, Dublin, 1911 as "The Pearl of the Rhine", (p.24). Expansion plans at Dusseldorf are similar to Leipzig, see Coll-1167/A/7/1. "The streets of the old town were curved, and the buildings placed, so as to reduce the effects of the west wind blowing in over the Rhine. Building zones in force "for two generations at least." (Guidebook and Outline Catalogue, p.24). Oval stamp and crown on reverse with text which reads "Local Government Board". Appears in Geddes' Cities and Town Planning Exhibition, exhibit number unknown.
