Scope and Contents
Plan of the estate of Ruislip Manor by A. & J. Soutar, Scottish born architects, working in the London County Council Housing Department, 1901-1911. The Soutar brothers won the competition for the layout of Ruislip Manor Estate, owned by King's College Cambridge, following their appointment as consulting architects to Ruislip Manor Ltd. The assessor was Raymond Unwin. (Dictionary of Scottish Architects). This plan shows another example of a garden suburb, an area of 6,000 acres around the estate was designated a Town Planning Area (first part before 1912).
