Scope and Contents

"IQ 72, undersized. Parents bought a two roomed hovel - deal in scrap metal. They have just gone off on trek in their caravan but will be back next winter. The children have had very interrupted schooling - they go to school if they stay more than a week in the place. Housing very delapidated, damp, no sanitation but fairly clean. Two rooms for 10. Father had a defective brother, the school doctor wanted him to go to the special school but his parents would not allow it. Dr says these children are very good and mannerly considering their life; he cannot say anything against them. Probably not intellectual but sharp in their own way. Minister confirms - very nice people but living conditions are deplorable. Frequently in trouble because of non-attendance - parents keep their children off school."
