Likely to be a duplicate copy of an engraving by John Shury for Robert Chambers' "Lives of Illustrious and Distinguished Scotsmen" (1834). Portrait of James Stuart, Earl of Moray and Regent of Scotland, 1531-1570. James Stuart was the half-brother of Mary, Queen of Scots, and latterly a supporter of the opposition to her party, and Regent during the minority of King James VI from the time of her enforced abdication.
