Scope and Contents
A reproduction of a collotype, most probably cut from James Bone's "Edinburgh Revisited" (1911), with drawings by Hanslip Fletcher. Shown is Heriots Hospital quadrangle, (built 1628-1700) which is described in John Gifford, Colin McWilliam and David Walker's "Edinburgh" (1984) as "a prodigy of Scot's renaissance Architecture". Printed inscription in left hand margin reads From Edinburgh Revisited by James Bone with Drawings by Hanslip Fletcher. Published by Sidgwick & Jackson, Ltd., London. Price One Guinea net. The text Hanslip Fletcher 1910 appears in very small writing on the right hand bottom edge. It is understood that this item was exhibited in lieu of item 36 detailed in the Catalogue of Geddes "Cities and Town Planning Exhibition", Dublin (Ui Breasail).
