The corner of High Street (Lawnmarket not visible) and Bank Street looking towards the Bank of Scotland. R. L Christie's jeweller's shop is still in existence (1989). "No.5" in the hand-written title on the original envelope must refer to the number of exposure, and not to any part of the scene. Handwritten title by R. Dykes.
