Main Point, c 1985
Scope and Contents
Main Point (note the building on the left, the public house showing in image Coll-1167/B/27/8/2 looking in to Bread Street. Fountainbridge, with the cart, is also on the left. Note also the figure of a man in the white jacket which appears in both photographs. No doubt he moved for this purpose; unfortunately this does not help to establish which picture was taken first. The site in the middle distance was until 1991 occupied by the Scottish Co-operative Society Store. Handwritten title on the original envelope containing the corresponding glass plate negatives was written by R. Dykes.
