Marshall Street, c 1985
Scope and Contents
Bristo Street is on the left and continued soutwards beyond the right of the picture (see Coll-1167/B/27/17/4 which shows the corner of the building on the right). This view is looking east along Marshall Stret (almost entirely demolished) to Nicolson Square and the Royal Bank of Scotland (1902) with the conically roofed tower beyond, still standing in 1989. The two projecting tenements (1765) in Nicolson Square are visible. Potterow double road now (1998) runs slightly west of them (nearer the camera). Handwritten title on the original envelope containing the corresponding glass plate negatives was written by R. Dykes.
