Scope and Contents
Photographic print showing west facing side of Mount Stuart, a house commissioned by the 3rd Marquess of Bute and designed by Rowand Anderson. It was the first house in Scotland to be lit by electricity, the swimming pool was the first ever heated pool to be contained within a house and a plumbing systems was serviced by a new waterworks built 2 miles away. Opened to the public from June 1995.
