Scope and Contents
This volume contains transcriptions of a collection of 776 letters, which were sent by the Nawwāb Vazīr al-Mumālik Sa'adat 'Alī Khān of Oudh to Colonel John Baillie, British Resident at Lucknow, between 12th Jumādā I, 1222 A.H. (19th July, 1807 C.E.), and 28th Zulḥijjah, 1224 A.H. (4th February, 1810 C.E). The contents consist mostly of replies to the enquiries of the British Resident regarding the affairs of the Ṣūbah of Oudh, under the administration of the Nawwāb-Vazīrs (see OR MS 127 for Baillie's letters to the Nawwāb-Vazīr).
