Scope and Contents

A large collection of transcriptions of 1488 letters, which were originally sent to the Nawwāb Vazīr al-Mumālik Sa'adat 'Alī Khān of Oudh by Colonel John Baillie, British Resident at Lucknow, between the 1st Muḥarram, 1225 A.H. (6th February, 1810 C.E.), and the 28th Zulḥijjah, 1227 A.H. (2nd January, 1813 C.E.). The contents of these letters relate mostly to the subjects mentioned in the description of OR MS 127-129. For replies to some of the letters in the current volume see OR MS 131.
