Vivisection and Animal Experimentation
Content Description
The charity’s comprehensive archive dates from its origins up to the present day and comprises correspondence, membership and subscription books, press cuttings, photographs and material focusing on specific campaigns, such as the high-profile Uist Hedgehog Rescue (UHR) coalition. As well as capturing a broad sweep of the organisation’s history and activities, the archive also sheds light on key figures in animal welfare, such as the charity’s former director Clive Hollands (1929-1996), a campaigner who also played a prominent role in politics, including the passing of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
