Scope and Contents

Drawings and images which were used in the SSPV's publication, "Our Fellow Mortals"


1. An illustration of the heading image used on Our Fellow Mortals. Drawn in pencil and ink, the illustration includes suggestions written in pencil below the drawing


2. An ink drawing of a crying dog behind bars titled 'Waiting Prisoner', accompanied by a poem "To Christians"


3. A printed copy of a cover for Our Fellow Mortals, which includes an image of Robert Burns with animals and cherubs in the margins.


4. Invitation to join the SSPCA "Band of Mercy", includes illustration on the cover from Our Fellow Mortals


5. A copy of a photograph of the Earl of Haddington, patron of the SSPV


6. A printed copy of a heading illustration for Our Fellow Mortals


7. An ink drawing for the cover of Our Fellow Mortals, showing a couple of horses in the centre surrounded by birds, a cat, a monkey, two dogs, and two rabbits.
