From a typed note pasted on the page: "Aitken, Robert. Born near Glasgow, 1787. Studied at the University of Glasgow. Ordained minister of the Burgher Secession Congregation at Kirkintilloch, 1811. Translated to Dundee, 1816. Joined the Church of Scotland in 1839. Signed the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission. Died, 1845."
