Biographical / Historical
From a typed note pasted on the page: "Jaffray, John. After serving at Glamis, Dundee, and Paisley, became, 1841, agent for the schemes of the Church of Scotland. He continued to hold the same position in the Free Church. The office being strictly ecclesiastical, Mr. Jaffray received ordination from the Presbytery of Edinburgh in June 1843. A very large part of the details in connection with the organising of the Free Church, especially in connection with her missionary schemes, was carried out by Mr. Jaffray. Retired in 1853. Died, 1858.
