From a typed note pasted on the page: "King, Andrew, D.D. Born at Glasgow, 1793. Studied at the University, Glasgow, and spent some years in teaching. Ordained at Torphichen, 1830. Translated to St. Stephen's, Glasgow, 1836. Signed the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission.In 1844 Dr. King was a deputy of the Free Church to Canada, and shortly afterwards was appointed Professor of Theology in the College at Halifax. In 1871 he retired, and returned to Scotland. Dr. King married Matilda Ferguson. Died, 1874."
