From a typed note pasted on the page: "Melville, Andrew. Born in Fife, 1775. Studied at the University, St. Andrews. Ordained at Logie, 1803. Married, the same year, Jane Duncan; and, 1810, Ann Gordon. Signed the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission. He ordained Dr. Chalmers at Kilmany the year in which he himself was ordained at Logie. Died, 1848."
