From a typed note pasted on the page: "Muirhead, George, D.D. Born at Dysart, 1764. Son of Dr. P. Muirhead, minister of the parish. Studied at the University, Glasgow, and Divinity Hall, Edinburgh. Ordained, 1788, to the second charge at Dysart. Married, 1807, Maxwell Fleming. In 1811 Dr. Muirhead succeeded his father in the first charge. Translated, 1816, to Cramond. Signed the Act the Separation and Deed of Demission. Dr. Muirhead was the oldest minister present in the Disruption Assembly of the Free Church. His signature to the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission is the second in the order, coming next to that of Thomas Chalmers, Moderator. Became senior minister, 1844. Died, 1847."
