From a typed note pasted on the page: "Wilson, David. Born at Edinburgh, 1810. Studied at the University, Edinburgh. Was missionary in the St. Leonard's district of the city, laying the foundations of what afterwards became St. Paul's congregation. Ordained, 1837, at Fullarton, Irvine. Married, 1842, Jane Denniston. Signed the Act of Separation and Deed of Demission. Was clerk of the Free Presbytery of Irvine. Died, 1881."
