From an exhibition caption: "The Scott Monument Calotype print, c. 1843-1847 AS well as portraits, Hill and Adamson produced as variety of architectural photographs. Hill photographed the architect of the monument, George Miekle Kemp, whose portrait hangs nearby. Hill also documented the progress of its building, to its completion, shown here".
