Scope and Contents

Miscellaneous documents that may have belonged to O. C. Bradley. A few are directly related to him: letter from D. Walter to o. C. Bradley, 9 January 1937, requesting information about his career before a toast by Dr Broadfoot Dingwall at a dinner; letters between J. Houston and A. C. Doull, Royal (Dick) Veterinary College Secretary, dated 1928, about information Boradley's career; a letter from F. P. Milligan to Professor Linton abut Broadley's death and his "promised subscription to the Building Extension Fund", dated 2 December 1937; C.V. of Dr O. Charnock Bradley; and a notification in German of the death of Prof. Dr. Moritz Bürgi, dated 3 March 1932 and sent to O. C. Bradley.

The other documents are: a medical illustration in colour showing "a muscular preparation of a horse" by Edward Snape, 1823; an indenture of apprenticeship, John Corbett to William Wilkinson, 24 April 1824 (with a note of provenance: "handed to JEP on 2/10/73 by Mr E. A. McPherson. Found at home. No history known"); a copy of the Veterinary Record dated 20 October 1906; programmes and an invitation for the laying of the memorial stone of new college buildings at Summerhall Square, 21 July 1914; a copy letter from F. P. Milligan to Sir W. S. McCormick, Secretary to the Carnegie Trust, dated 20 March 1916; brown notebook entitled "Graduates and Students on Active Service" during the First World War; typescript of a "statement by Mr. Hogg, Cashier, dated 7th May, 1923" about a case of fraud by "tempering with students' fees by Mr. Breen"; C.V. of Robert Stewart MacDougall dated c 1927; copy of letter from W. Slater Brown to T. G. Nasmyth, dated 19 April 1933, concerning a meeting regarding accounts organised by Principal Bradley betwen Professor Mitchell and W. Slater Brown; annotated cooy of the College Council's consitution; a draft of a "provisional order to provide for the embodiment within the University of Edinburgh of the Royal (Dick) Veterinary College ...", dated November 1950; amd a pamphlet about the "War Memorial Unveiling Ceremoney", dated 27 November 1951.
