Scope and Contents
Correspondence. From file (extract): "Dr Dorothy Smith, née White (1919-2017), was Irene's closest friend from Esdaile. She was bridesmaid at Irene's wedding to Leslie Cairns in December 1943. After a time in general practice in Kent she met Ronald Smith and went out to Tanganyika to marry him: he was in the Colonial Service in East Africa and before that in Malaya. Their only son David was Irene's godson."
Also includes correspondence between David Smith and Iain Gordon Brown on the death of their mothers, on 1 February 2017 and 7 June 2017.
