Composite manuscript (Miscellanea theologica), 1431, 1433, 1434, and mid 15th century
Scope and Contents
This is a composite manuscripts containing several texts, written in Germany (probably at the Charterhouse of Erfurt) in 1431, 1433, 1434 and in the middle of the 15th century. The title on the label on the front cover, "Liber pro nouellis militibus Cristi. Hic multa doctrinalia deuocionalia et moralia collecta sunt", and the words "Liber nouiciorum" in red on f. 1 show that this was a collection of use to young monks especially. Many of the pieces are common in manuscripts of this date. A nearly contemporary scribe made the volume even more miscellaneous than it was by adding short pieces in blank spaces.
For a full description of the manuscript, see the bibiography note in "Additional description".
