Biographical / Historical
In 1977 the Institute of Animal Genetics was designated the World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre for Research on the Genetics of Malaria Parasites. Beale and Sodsri Thaithong of Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, were awarded a collaborative grant for the research projects 'Enzyme typing of human malaria parasites' and 'Genetics of malaria parasites.'
