Biographical / Historical

While studying for both the Diploma in Architecture and the Certificate in Civic Design at the University of Liverpool, Percy Johnson-Marshall entered architectural designs for a number of prize competitions, in addition to his course work. On two occasions he entered as a partnership, once with his brother Stirrat Johnson-Marshall and once with a colleague JH Parker. He was successful in winning the HW Williams Prize for the Promotion of Architectural Design in Concrete also in 1936 for his design of a "Bus station for Liverpool".
