Custodial History
These legal papers of James Ferguson came into possession of Robert Anderson because his father, William Anderson, had bought a property from James Ferguson. When James Ferguson died, his own uncle Thomas Ferguson became his heir. When in later years Thomas and then his wife died (the latter leaving legacies to Robert Anderson and three of his children), Robert acted as chief executor for both of them.
