Biographical / Historical

Fraser attended the University of Edinburgh Medical School and graduated with an MD in 1862. In 1877 was appointed professor of medicine at the University of Edinburgh, serving until 1918. In 1880 he was nominated Dean of the Medical Faculty.

A stamp included in the inside back cover of all three volumes stating that the volume was originally from Gardiner's University Stationary Warehouse, 66 South Bridge, Edinburgh.

Accessioned in 1958.

Typewritten note included in the front cover of vol. 1, stating that the notes were taken by George Mackay MD, and presented by him to the Materia Medica Department in June 1924. Transferred from Materia Medica Department in 1958.
