Scope and Contents

Thomson announces his intention to retire from the Indian Medical Service and to seek employment in the new Department of Tropical Medicine in the University of Edinburgh. He goes on to describe his work experience in tropical medicine and states that he has spoken to Sir William Turner and Sir Thomas Fraser regarding a possible position within the University.

Scope and Contents

Two volumes containing student lecture notes from The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies entitled 'Materia Medica - Fraser - vol. I' and 'vol. II'. The lectures were given by Prof. Fraser on 'Materia Medica'; there is no information on the identity of the student. The first lecture is dated 13 October 1896 and the last one, 19 March 1897. Some loose notes are enclosed in the second volume.
