Scope and Contents
This is the marriage contract of John Wauchope of Edmonstone (1742-1810) and his cousin Anne Erskine (1740-1811), bound in a full sheet of stencilled brocade paper by the Augsburg manufacturer Johann Friedrich Leopold. Contract signed at Edmonstone, 7 December 1766.

Physical Description
Manuscript on paper, folio (333 x 212 mm), pp. 12, with blanks at either end, the upper corner of one torn away; the leaves untrimmed; some insignificant water-staining, bound in a sheet of earlier eighteenth-century brocade paper, creased where previously folded, a few stains, numbered "280" at head and on initial blank in an early hand.
