Stolzenfels Castle is a former medieval fortress castle, turned palace near Koblenz on the left bank of the River Rhine. Stolzenfels was a ruined 13th century castle gifted to Prussian Crownprince, Frederick William in 1823.

The Palace of Castel Gondolfo, also known as the Apostolic Palace of Castel Gandolfo from the Italian 'Pallazo Apostolico di Castel Gandolfo. A complex of buildings and a garden, with 17th century villa, observatory and farmhouse, served for centuries as a summer residence and vacation retreat for the Pope, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church. It is afforded extraterritorial status as one of the properties of the Holy Sea. The oldest parts date back to the 13th century.
