Back of tenements, High Street, c 1985
Said to be a precint between High Street tenements and Tron Square Two children in the foreground. There is a note on the original envelope of the corresponding negative which reads "These I should like to be taken again some day" with an illegible signature, possibly "J.B Strong" or "Sim" or "J.B.S.M." Unfortunately, the writer did not note an appropriate title.

Part of a series of images of Chessel's Court. South side of Canongate, largely rebuilt 1931, 1965-67. Note how images Coll-1167/B/27/5/2-5 have been rearranged to show consecutive views from west to north-east, before being catalogued in the 1980s, the corresponding negatives were numbered in their box so: 14, 11, 13, 12. Coll-1167/B/27/5/2-5 show an area on the South side of the Canongate.
