The Pump Room, Strathpeffer, 1853-1908
Photographic print showing the Pump Room at Strathpeffer. Strathpeffer is a Victorian spa village. Dr Thomas Morrison claimed in 1819 that the water was the most 'efficacious in Britain'. The first pump room was opened in 1820 and brought many health seekers which prompted the construction of a number of hotels.
