Scope and Contents

Series of five illustrations showing a procedure to remove cysts from the spine. Includes photograph of human tissue. Depicts the steps involved in the removal of a cyst in the spinal canal. One drawing shows a posterior view of the back, with the cyst outlines beneath the skin overlying the thoracic vertebrae (T2-4). Three posterior view drawings show the process of removing the cyst via removing the overlying laminae and separating the cyst from the 2nd right anterior nerve root. A fifth drawing shows the artist's interpretation of a coronal view of the cyst sitting at the level of T4, compressing the spinal cord.
