A strongly worded opinion piece that the major opponents to equality for gay people such as the church, no longer have the authority or public support to do so. Scaremongering about that a vulnerable 16 year old may not be ready for sex can apply equally to heterosexuals, therefore simple parity, human rights and public opinion support the lowering of the gay age of consent to 16.
