Treatise by William Glen (1778-1849), missionary to Astrakhan
Scope and Contents
Treatise on Tartar-Turkish grammar. 81 numbered pages with handwritten text, but not all pages are in use. Additional unnumbered pages of writing at the end of the volume, in an unidentified script.
Many newspaper cuttings on church questions (1865-1871) have been pasted in through out the book, sometimes obscuring the text.
Front board bears several names and inscriptions. Some of these are in the same hand as the text, and others are later. Unclear whether these are signs of ownership, or just unrelated notes.
