The object of the journey was possibly legal business, vid f.16v: "proof not begun owing to a difficulty in getting the witnesses examined." The writer mentions a meeting with Sir William Hamilton and James Mackenzie at Hamburg, f. 5r, f. 14v. Harwich - Hamburg - Berlin - Potsdam - Wittenberg - Meissen - Dresden.
