Booklet entitled 'The Chaldee portions of Daniel and Ezra translated into the Hebrew language from a MS found in Rome' published in Edinburgh, printed by Robert Young, Foreign Bookseller and Printer, Head of the Mound. The booklet belonged to Andrew A. Bonar and it was donated by his daughter Mrs Marjory C. Brown, 19 Wordsworth Avenue, Bournemouth in 1973. Two letters indicate that it was donated by her to New College Library and that the donation was accepted by John Howard, librarian.

Bound collection of 12 watercolours of punishments in China

This is a collection of 12 very vividly water-coloured drawings (280 x 180 mm) depicting scenes of punishments and executions. They have been done on Chinese rice paper held in place by a light blue silk ribbon border. The binding is covered in contemporary decorated silk. Done probably in Canton (Guangzhou), circa 1850.

Brief account of Mr Bowers escape from the Inquisition

Scope and Contents This 12pp manuscript (in contemporary marbled wrappers) of a copy of Bower's escape appears to date from after 1763, and could have been the work of a young person copying out the text as an advanced form of exercise. It does not include a final short paragraph found in other copies of this manuscript, but it is the only one containing verses at the end of the document.
