Scope and Contents

The collection consists of 69 colour slides (5 cm x 5cm) with a full commentary for a lantern talk entitled A preaching walk through the Ningsia district given by Wood in England depicting scenes of life in China, church and mission work and missionaries and church leaders; and an album of 20 coloured photographs of scenes in Beijing.

Letter and portrait relating to William Chalmers Burns

Scope and Contents This collection contains two different items: a letter (and its envelope) sent from Rong Lin to Sir William Chalmers Burns, and a photograph portraying a Chinese carpenter and Christian convert named Chu Ting Yü.1. The photograph is a portrait of Chu Ting Yü, carpenter and convert to Christianity. He knew Rev. William Chalmers Burns and allegedly made his coffin when Burns died in 1868.
