King's Warrant declaring Peter Hume Brown Historiographer-Royal in 1908. The Great Seal of Scotland in red wax is attached to the centre-base of the sheet, using reg and blue ribbons.Bulk of the warrant is written in the hand of John Charles Strettell Miller, and reads: "Edward the Seventh by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas King Defender of the Faith to all to whom these Presents...
