The album had been in the possession of the Earl of Cawdor (John Frederick). It is dated 1859. The album is composed of photographic art reproduced on salted paper. Eight images are maritime in nature - vessels at sea - with waves and sails coloured in bluish / greyish tint, and are of drawings done by Willem Van de Velde the Younger (1633-1707).

Maroon morocco. Gilt stamp at the from and back board - John Frederick Earl Cawdor.

Five photographs from the reunion at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford, marking the 50th-anniversary of the first clinical use of penicillin. The pictures show Sir Edward Abraham, Professor Charles Fletcher, Lady Florey, Dr. Norman Heatley, and Kenneth Jones. Also include high-quality copies on paper.
