Dundas Street, c 1985
Has this view been taken to contrast with prints Coll-1167/B/27/14/1-4? Handwritten title on the original envelope containing the corresponding glass plate negatives was written by Alasdair Geddes. A print from the corresponding glass plate negative was included in the "Open Spaces as Gardens and Playgrounds" section of Geddes' replacement "Cities and Town Planning Exibition". See Coll-1167/B/24.
Early Medieval (feudal), c 1914
Four plans and an engraving that were exhibited in the 'Early Medieval (Feudal) section of the Geddes' replacement 'Cities and Town Planning Exhibition'.
East Crosscauseway, c 1890-c 1910
East Crosscauseway. Factory yard of J. Bain, Printer (J. Bain & Sons, 27 East Crosscauseway). See the sign on the centre right. In the following images Coll-1167/B/26/19/1-10 the original title on the containing envelope was written "Crosscauseway" but should read "Causewayside". The photographer, R. Dykes, appears to have confused the two streets which are quite separate and a considerable distance apart. Handwritten title by R. Dykes.
East Crosscauseway, c 1890-c 1910
East Crosscauseway. Corner of Murray Street, at 52 East Crosscauseway. The Brewery chimney at the far end of the street is at the junction of East Crosscauseway and St. Leonard's Street. Crosscauseway, on the south side of the street, are on the right of the picture. The chimney is apparently not that in the previous image Coll-1167/B/26/19/1. Handwritten title by R. Dykes.
East Crosscauseway, c 1890-c 1910
Back of East Crosscauseway, looking towards the brewery on the corner of St Leonard's Street. The gable with the row of chimney-pots appears on the previous image Coll-1167/B/26/19/2.
East Crosscauseway, c 1890-c 1910
Note that the tenements on the right are or brick above the ground floor. 33 East Crosscauseway was entered through a pend. The Block at the end of the lane was demolished c. 1927. These buildings would presumably be at right angles to Nicolson Street. Handwritten title by R. Dykes.
