Photographic print showing Kildrummy Castle, Aberdeenshire. Known as 'the noblest of northern castles'. The castle dominated Strathdon as the seat of the earls of Mar. Built in the mid 1200s, the castle guarded the point where the main routes from the south met before entering Moray and Buchan.
