Lyell travels from the Scottish Highlands, to Glasgow and Dumfries, then onto Devonshire, Suffolk, Somerset, and finishes back in Devon. Lyell attends meetings of various Societies, and writes about his correspondence with and the work of other notable researchers of the time. ...
