A collection of royal letters and notes of Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr (r. 1658 to 1707 C.E.). The letters are addressed to his son Muḥammad A‘ẓam-Shāh (d. 1119 A.H., 1707 C.E.).

Scope and Contents A most celebrated general history of India from the time of the Muslim conquest (367 A.H., 977 C.E.) to the 38th year of Mughal Emperor Akbar's reign (1002 A.H., 1593 A.D.). The work, which is the earliest pertaining exclusively to India, is also known under the titles of Ṭabaqāt-i Akbarī, Ta'rīkh-i Niẓamī, and Ta' rīkh-i Sulṭān-i Niẓamī. A history of the complete reign of Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr (r. 1067-1078 A.H., 1656-1668 C.E.). It was compiled in 1122 A.H., 1710 C.E., by Muḥammad Sāqī Musta‘idd-Khān (d. 1136 A.H., 1723 C.E.) who was secretary to ‘Ināyat-Allāh Khān.

A history of the complete reign of Mughal Emperor ‘Ālamgīr (r. 1067-1078 A.H., 1656-1668 C.E.). It was compiled in 1122 A.H., 1710 C.E., by Muḥammad Sāqī Musta‘idd-Khān (d. 1136 A.H., 1723 C.E.) who was secretary to ‘Ināyat-Allāh Khān.

Scope and Contents A history of the complete reign of the Emperor 'Ālamgīr, from 1067 A.H. (1656 C.E.) to his death, 1118 A.H. (1707 C.E.). It was compiled in 1122 A.H. (1710 C.E.), by Musta'idd-Khān, surnamed Muḥammad Sāqī, who was secretary to 'Ināyat-allāh Khān. This nobleman was the favourite record writer of 'Ālamgīr and subsequently rose to the role of Governor of Kashmir and vizier to Shāh-'Ālam. This is an anonymous account of the war and subsequent peace between Mughal Muḥammad-Shāh of India and Nādir-Shāh of Persia in the 21st year of Muḥammad-Shāh's reign (1152 A.H., 1739 C.E.).

Certain pages are heavily annotated in English. The annotations appear to be translations of the main text, possibly in the hand of the collector, James Anderson.
