This collection consists of the correspondence of John Barker of Langshaw, including five letters from his widow, 1881-1837. Includes a one-page typescript description of the letter by the original seller. Barker was a "gentleman farmer", and the correspondence is addressed to Mr Wyatt of Foolow near Bakewell, who was in the lead-mining business. Barker comments on his farming, crops, cattle and sheep, and discusses his investments and economic matters of the first part of the 19th century....
